Study abroad budget calculator

Add up the real cost of your whole course, not just the first year. Enter figures from official university and government pages, and the calculator does the rest. It has no built-in fees, because they change every year.

For example 1 for most UK master's courses, or check your course page.

From the university's course page, in its currency.

Rent, food, transport, phone. A visa minimum is a floor, not a comfortable budget.

12 if you'll stay all year, fewer if you'll come home in breaks.

Applications, tests, visa, health cover, flights, deposits.

Your choice. Covers price rises and exchange-rate changes.

Today's rate from your bank. Leave empty to skip rupee totals.

Optional. Savings, loans you qualify for, awards already won.

Where to find each figure

  • Tuition: the international fee on your exact course page. Check whether it is per year or for the whole course.
  • Living costs: some governments publish the minimum you must show for a visa, such as the UK's money you need for a Student visa or DAAD's requirements for Germany. Treat these as a floor.
  • One-off costs: application and test fees, visa fees, health cover, flights and deposits, each from its official page.
  • Exchange rate: your bank's current rate. Rates move, which is why a buffer helps.
